M23 SBS been running for few days now and has no photos posted, no buzz, etc

There's so many SBS routes now the debut of new ones apparently aren't exciting anymore.

The XD60 on the 44, XN40 on the 35, the (W) return, and the R179 testing are just some of the things that are making people forget about other things. For example, nobody has really tried to get one of the buses with the displays and announcements either. I guess some stuff is just more important than others, because there is that much stuff happening.

I fanned it a bit- just haven't gotten a chance to put up my pics yet...

Also unlike the other SBS routes 99% of the stops are the same. The only difference is bus lanes and fare payment...

It's only been running for two days, and some people (including myself) have posted videos of it on YouTube.

Speaking of which, people don't get that you need to pay at the machines. The driver even mentioned it on my ride a few times, and despite both the M15 and M34A running near the M23, people still don't get that you need the SBS tickets on Select Bus Service routes. And there were still people waiting for the M23 at Lexington and got mad when the bus didn't stop there (which I find baffling as that stop was discontinued and there are signs at the bus stop saying that it was discontinued.)

I gotta say, I never actually took it before it became +SBS+, but I took it today from 6th Avenue to 2nd Avenue and it seemed pretty quick, with the bus lane and everything. The B/O waited at stops a bit longer than necessary (since they had those MTA workers with the orange vests helping people out to get people acquainted with it before the Eagle Team comes in), but overall, I was pleased with the speed from the bus lane and the off-board fare payment.

If it weren't for the whole shifting of (NB) service from NY av to Rogers av on the B44, I'd have stopped caring about new SBS routes after the S79....

Because everyone is getting their rocks off on the "new" (W)

which was in Brooklyn yesterday. Had no idea that section of Brooklyn was called "Gravesend" (86th St & West 8th).

But I did know that the (R) portion of Jay Street was called Lawrence St and that Barclays Center once referred to the 4th Avenue platform in its name. In fact, it's like a snapshot. The (W) strip map is nostalgic in of itself.

Hey guys. Do you think of the B37 ever getting SBS? That section of Kings is developing as fast as LIC and I think that once the storefronts start taking customers it would be a good idea. In addition, it would provide one block access to the 4th Avenue Line.

I brought it up because I happen to be going to that strech of town tomorrow. I see a lot of missed opportunities there.

That route doesn't even come close to pulling the loads that the other routes do. I agree with ATH. Yeah, more than 2K per weekday is decent for the service levels it has, but the route isn't even that utilized. You can have SRO buses, but that's about it.

Then you have areas like Bay Ridge, where the bus makes almost every stop. Eliminating stops won't do much of anything to reduce the amount of buses used (and would rather piss off people too). Even the B63 (which has about 5 times the ridership of the B37) doesn't make a good candidate, because of similar reasons (there's also the issue of 5 Avenue being too narrow in sections to even have a bus lane). The B37 as it is still pretty fast anyway.

The 4th Av section was called Pacific St, whereas the Brighton and IRT sections was called Atlantic Av. Eventually they were all unified to Atlantic Av-Pacific St.

Once Barclays Center opened up, they brought naming rights to the station and turned it into Atlantic Av-Barclays Center

The B37 already has SBS...it's called the (R) train.

Well Manhattan bus service is f*cked.

It not just city buses. Tour buses, charter buses, casino buses, Hampton Jitney buses, MegaBus, BoltBus, Chinatown Buses are all messed up because of Anti-Trump March from Union Sq to Trump Towers, but I only march up to Herald Sq for animals, climate changes and Stop Specta Pipeline only.

Some of cars were lined up on Broadway near 14-20s, and cars/vans are empty.
